Bought in 1983, the farm is transmitted to a 5th generation of Montpetit's. Ferme 236 Inc is the home of LACTOMONT Holsteins. The herd consists of 200 pur-bred Holsteins of which 90 are milk cows.
The herd classification is: 28 VG, 50 GP, 2 G and 14 NC. The actual herd average on 76 records is: 12562 kg milk, 445 kg fat, 410 kg protein for a BCA of 275-263-282. We work 150 ha. of land and also finish 300 veal calves per year. We are a CHAH herd since 1992. | |

The farm is owned by Daniel Montpetit and Jane Nieuwenhof. We count on the help of our four children: Josiane 18, Benoit 17, Pierre 15 and Ghislain 12 years old.
On our farm, we try to keep costs down by trying to raise hard working cows that produce milk easily and with a strong conformation. We work with cows families that have proven their ability to do just that. | |
